Fire Island is a quick ferry ride across the Great South Bay from Long Island and only 55 miles from Manhattan. The island is 32 miles long and known for its pristine beaches and relaxing beachside ambiance. Vehicles are not permitted on the island, so the locals and visitors travel around town by foot, bicycle, and golf cart. In addition to the beautiful beaches, other attractions you don’t want to miss out on are the Fire Island Lighthouse, the Sunken Forest and of course, exploration of the other communities on the island. Believe it or not, there are 17! Some are strictly residential, while others offer restaurants, shops, marinas and playgrounds catering to both the locals and visitors. Officially, the season lasts from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, so make sure to plan your stay accordingly and we look forward to seeing you out on the Beach!
